I'm wondering if anyone else is having this issue or if someone has come up with a solution for this. I've replaced the blet tensioner twice in a short span of time. I'm not sure why they keep going bad. The first one was an OEM AC Delco and I believe the 2nd one was Gates or Dayco.
    Any thoughts?
I've seen a thread where someone put a larger pulley on the tensioner and thar seemed to fix it but I'm not sure which one I have. I do remember seeing 2 different size pulleys at some point but that my have been SL1 vs SL2.
    For clarity, I have a 2002 Saturn SL1

In general Saturn belt tensioners should have around 50 lbs of tension. Serpentine belts should feel banjo tight, not flopping with engine idling.
