Just FYI, one of my favorite sites. To see just what Saturn (and thier
siblings) are up to lately, check out this site. Also click on the Ecotec
icon, tons of information here. Betcha didn't know the ecotec is currently
one of the most widely used engines in the world? :)

I knew the Ecotec would be to 4 bangers as the SBC was to v8's.

I currently like the following engines, if they are in the "right"
    application:

    ECOTEC 2.0L I4 TURBO (LNF)
    ECOTEC 2.0L I4 SC (LSJ)
    ECOTEC 2.2L I4 (L61)
    ECOTEC 2.4L I4 VVT (LE5)

3.6L V6 VVT (LY7) (verdict is still out on this one but good thus far.)

3.8L V6 (L26) (Aside from a wet intake it is a great engine.)
    3.8L V6 SC (L32)

    NORTHSTAR 4.4L V8 SC (LC3)
    NORTHSTAR 4.6L V8 (LD8)
    NORTHSTAR 4.6L V8 (LH2)

    5.3L GEN IV V8 (LS4)
    6.0L GEN IV V8 (LS2)
    7.0L GEN IV V8 (LS7)

    VORTEC 2.9L I 4 VVT (LLV)

VORTEC 3.7L I 5 VVT (LLR) (Perfect midsize truck motor with great gas
    mileage)

    VORTEC 4.2L I 6 VVT (LL8)

    VORTEC 4.3L V6 (LU3)
    VORTEC 4.8L V8 (LR4)
    VORTEC 4.8L V8 (LY2)

    VORTEC 5.3L V8 (L33)

    VORTEC 5.3L V8 (LM7)
    VORTEC 5.3L V8 (LC9)
    VORTEC 5.3L V8 (LH6)
    VORTEC 5.3L V8 (LMG)
    VORTEC 5.3L V8 (LY5)

    VORTEC 6.0L V8 (LQ4)
    VORTEC MAX 6.0L V8 (LQ9)
    VORTEC MAX 6.0L V8 (L76)
    VORTEC 6.0L V8 (LY6)

    VORTEC 6.2L V8 (L92)

DURAMAX DIESEL 6.6L V8 TURBO (LBZ)
DURAMAX DIESEL 6.6L V8 TURBO (LLY)
DURAMAX DIESEL 6.6L V8 TURBO (LMM)

    VORTEC 8.1L V8 (L18)

IMO those are all great motors. The L18 once offered in an Avalanche
though was just stupid... I skipped over flexfuel motors. Pointless
option aside from getting the stainless steel tanks and gas lines with
    them.
