Another good reason to use Mozilla.

  4. If the phrase "Bloated Hog" gives you a tingly feeling in your swimtrunks,
    mebbee. I likes Opera. ;)

I like Lynx too, but I know that's just silly.

    Interesting list of newsgroups here...

Neither one will keep that crap from showing up in your mail unless you
make special efforts to kill it.
Try w3m, it has a lot of advantages over lynx while retaining the
[essential for some] CLI. Or so I hear. I still like NS 4.7n.

Opera does have the market cornered on being "good shit"; but Mozilla
Firebird is all of the good parts of Mozilla without most of the crap.
Just the browser (doesn't even require an install; just shove it in a
folder and open the executable). It's a bit buggy but still not bad for
    "free".

  7. Use Mozilla Firebird if you want a trimmed down version. The full
version is only necessary if you're going to make use of all the
features. Never mind that disk space is cheap.
Decent enough as a browser. The IMAP mail client blows the
http://goatse.cx guy and it has no automoatic proxy configuration
ability, so it falls short of what it needs to be used as an
    enterprise solution in the workplace.
    Yes, it is. :)
