Saturn Commercial with "Pixie and Dixie" music (Hanna barbera)

Back in 1993 or solm there was a very amusing Saturn ad, one of the
LAST uses of the music of "John Seely Assocviates",aka "Capitol
Production Media Music', aka "Ole George/OGM Media Music", which soon
(c.1995?) allegedly sold the rights out.

The tune, supposedly composed by a "George Hormel", (one of the most
prolfic compsoers
and the creator of some of the most memroable tunes
me of the more memorbale tunes used in amny televiison cartoons shows
of the 50s using
this famous production library)
Records/33-1/3 r.p.m.,circa 1955, or 1956, L-4),from there,is
catalogued as "Fast Movement #4-ZR-48", out of "Metropolitan
Movement"Capitol Records, (Capitol 33-1/3/L-4),and is one
of many cues gfrom that famous library that is used in, say, Gumby,
Dennuis the and is often heard in Gumby, Dennis the Menac,e and most
early pre-1960 Hanna-Barbera productions of early Hanna Barbera shorts
save of course the trilogy that comprised Quick Draw McGraw (IQuick
Draw, Super Snooper and Blabber, and Augie Doggie),which had different
library music mostly.

If have Warner Home Video Huckleberry Hound, 1958, and watch episodes
"Little Birdmouse' (It's used there throughout,it's the song at the
very end, and is in "Mark of the mouse',also with those miserable
"Meeces", the Huckleberry Hound shorts "Sheriff Huckleberry" and
whatver that one where the sometimes used French Canadian villianous
character, "Powerful Pierre" and Huck compete in skiiing-in fact, it's
called also "Water Skis"--see below, and elsewhere, second season of
Hanna Barbera's blue pooch had that tune used when Huckleberry "injures
an injun". Whoops..I meant Native American..)

It's one of many cues commonly used at the time on many shows and even
in pubklicv palces,for a pleasant fee (pleasant to John Seely and
Capitol,at least!)

It's am ver fast symphonic cue, very tuneful and fast!-and constnatly
modulating..it';s in the ad where you see various largely Middle
American background and some rather folksy voice (rather like that
Energizer voice) says, everywhere ya go..THERE's a Saturn.
'(or something to that effect)


Other composers were, say,Biill Loose, Spencer Moore, Phil GReen, Henry
RUssl, Mahlon Merrick, Emil Cadkin,, Lou DFrancesco, King Palmer, Jack
Meakin, Jack Shaindlin, Jack Cookerly, Ed Lund, Roger Roger, and Harry
Bluetstone (whi;s usually TEAMED with Cadkin), Jack Belasco, and Dave
Buttolph.

BTW THat cue originated in the UK Syncro Library credited to the more
well known (cited above lirbary) John Seely's titular head and partner
Bill Loose there! (the Librayr lorigjn ated as a unpreteniosu 1940s
sserrvic e of the then new Capi9tll Records and as more produciton
libraries comepted for the makret Cpaitol,a s a now major labnel,
offered them and created new music,as a short form explanation.)
